Just Do It! Nike is purpose driven, uniting the world through sport to create a healthy planet, active communities and equal playing field for all. Founded in 1964 as Blue-Ribbon Sports, by Bill Bowerman, former track and field coach at the University of Oregon and Phil Knight, former student. In 1971, cutting ties with a supporting company, the NIKE logo was created by a Portland State Uni Student, Carolyn Davis. The same year the iconic waffle sole was imagined and brought to life. 1979, Nike introduces “Air” technology. 1984 Nike signs basketball player Michael Jordan. 1988, the “Just Do It” campaign was launched, and it is still their most recognised signature to date.
